5 Great Ways to Hunt For a Writing Job

Quite a number of people love to write, and a decent amount of these individuals actually want to turn writing into a career. This field can be a tough one to break into, but if you consult with these resources, you absolutely have a chance! Read on to get a head start.

Online Writing Jobs
In the year 2013, you really need to be starting online if you want to find a writing job. So many content-driven websites exist, and they are really growing by the day. As a result, content is needed for these sites themselves, and sometimes they're looking to sell out content to other sites in turn. Regardless of your experience or background, it's wise for almost everyone to seek out content-writing positions.

July Update: Writing Opportunities

As you are aware, A Blogger's Books runs a regular writing opportunities update. Please click on the main page (linked) to see the full list of lesser-known jobs for writers, bloggers, verse writers etc.

Again, you don't have to be an experienced writer to get paid for a lot of the jobs listed there. If you can write verses for cards or are good with tips and how-tos, there are plenty of places for you to submit your work too. The jobs listed are all paid posts. Many of them pay very well.

This month I've updated the foreign market section (not the UK). I've found that there are more paid writing opportunities in Canada, USA and Australia. UK markets generally don't stand out as ones offering struggling writers a good return for their hard work. It seems we can all survive on great effort, time and research, just for a copy of our published material.  This angers me, because no one can live on satisfaction alone. No other group of workers are expected to work for nothing.  Find update here:

Writing Opportunities - Another Update

I just wanted you to know that my Writing Opportunities page has been updated with some new and interesting jobs.
As you know, you don't necessarily have to be an author to earn from these writing jobs. There are links to card companies accepting submissions, magazines asking for tips and photos, The Reader's Digest readers' submissions page, and much more.

So if you've got a magnificent tip used by generations of family members or  funny pictures in your photo albums, these can earn you money.
Of course, a large percentage of work on the writing opportunities' page is about writing. Have a look. I'm sure there's something there suitable for you too.

Do A Paid Review On Your Blog

Judging from the amount of traffic I received on my post, Do You Get Paid To Blog, it's clear that many bloggers - even those who're newbies to the web scene - are interested in earning some extra money blogging.

On A Blogger's Books I carry an entire section called, Writing opportunities where writers and bloggers alike can find all types of paid writing jobs to suit their niche. Today I want to tell you about a blogging-specific earning opportunity which you can all be a part of.

CSN Stores are currently carrying out a major Internet campaign and need your help. In my opinion - and experience (and according to my friend) they're great to work with, and deliver what they say they will - on time! If you're able to do a well-written, entertaining or informative blog post, then you stand a chance of being selected to write a review for this company.

Earn Money Writing For Hard-Copy Publications (Update)

A Blogger's Books scourers the web to find well-paying writing jobs for you. You don't have to be an illustrious author to make money from your writing.

Can you write verses for greeting cards? Can you put together a recipe or a write up tips for glossy magazines? Are you a good with words? Can you write poetry or convey a real-life amusing situation?
Writing is not only about putting 100,000 words together. Modern needs have evolved to mean that people who are otherwise creative like Logo Designers, Web Designers, Website descriptive writers, or people who have particular expertise, can earn money writing.

Of course, your grammar and punctuation have to be perfect and you have to be able to write in the style that's best suited to online writing. When you've looked at the writing opportunities page (link below), peruse and bookmark this series of articles written specially for newbie online writers.

You can get paid well for doing any of the above, as well as writing short stories or novels. Have a look at my newly updated writing opportunities page and pick something that suits you.

Writing Opportunities - Update

Don't forget that A Blogger's Books runs a regularly updated writing opportunities' page. Subscribe to this site and you'll be notified when there's a new post to suit your individual needs.

I've searched the web to come up with writing ops of every kind. Most of them on the linked page above are hard-copy writing jobs where you can earn good money in exchange for your hard work. There are however, a few online links too. You will also find small opportunities like tips requests. If you are a poet, start earning by writing greeting  cards messages etc.

This page has been updated today, so go check it out.

Writing Opportunities

I've scoured the web and hard copy editions in the UK and elsewhere to find writing prospects so you don't have to do any of the hard work. Check out these writing opportunities I've found for you. Subscribe to this blog to keep updated with this page. I'll be adding new writing/publishing opportunities every 2 months or so.

Keep in mind that most of these prospects may be tiny, one-off writing jobs, but each small break is a chance to get your foot on the ladder. Each piece accepted is another chance to add 'published' work on your CV.

The writing opportunities below are grouped by countries, but you can email submissions to any of them regardless of where you live.

Anne's a published author, freelance writer and experienced editor. She's just signed her second publishing contract this year with 2 separate publishing houses. You can hire her or see her available books in the side panel on the right.
